Anyway, I think I have purged DS completely from the system now, and I'd like some advice as to what to do to get everything working properly.īTW, the latest version of DS is draftSight2016SP1, and it did work until I loused it up! Before deleting /home/doug/.config/DraftSight, I looked and found that in a sub directory there seem to be files that DS might need to function. I have attempted to reinstall DS from the rpm a couple of times, but no luck-it still comes up with a gray drawing area that shows nothing. Then, following the two instructions given previously, i.e., deleting /home/doug/.config/DraftSight and doing rpm -e -justdb, I somehow managed to get into a situation where the drawing area of the program just came up gray, and nothing would show on it-not the UCS icon, no cursor, no mouse cursor arrow, nothing! I have been messing with DS for a couple of days now, and I kind of think that one of the two commands does nasty things, but I really don't want to continue to play here. this being a weekend, I tried to update the system from Synaptic, and got a message about an error file-don't remember the wording-and I guess it was DS, because when I allowed Synaptic to fix it, DS wouldn't work anymore. When I first reinstalled DS, it worked fine. Owing to various difficulties not relative to DraftSight, I wound up reinstalling pclos, and of course, draftsight. Installing DS64 30 March 2015 downloaded DS64 rpm. I am finding that my version downloaded 30 March 2015 is fine in KDE64 PCLinuOS kernel 4.0.6 as far as tracking is concerned.īack to the problem with libaudio.so.2 causing trouble for rpm install, it is necessary to apply the option -nodeps (meaning do not check for dependencies) then it will install. Mouse pointer will move but erratically and/or slow to a degree it is quite unacceptable. I will just note again, that if you download the latest Linux DraftSight rpm file you may run into the lousy erratic mouse tracking problem. Will look much closer at the implications of you information it sounds so familiar reading from about 3 years ago when I dipped a toe trying compiling and was reading up on this and decided only in emergencies else it would just take me too much time despite being mighty interesting. I don't know how many times I have stared at that red mark in front of the draftsight package in Synaptic and thinking very nice colour, how can I make colour change. I have been concentrating on 'hiding' the wrong package. More important I think my brain is disconnected from my mind somewhere. I will be chasing that spec file for my education. Can it get any worse for me? Thank you for your post.
